Just updated to iOS 10 from iOS 9.3. In the previous iOS, I could quick reply a text message or LINE from the notification badge or notification bar, and reply directly from the notification badge/bar. Now it only has one option: clear. Other people have two options: view and clear. What am I missing? Why is there no view?

It's just the update in general. It's the new 3D Touch on ios if you have it on you hold on it to view it and the keyboard pops up if you don't want that just turn off 3D Touch and it'll go back to normal
Can you use the two options, view and clear, in landscape mode?
I have an iphone 7 and when i try to view a message or clear it in landscape mode, the view and clear buttons don't work. I am on ios 10.3
...Everyone is right but, incase you forgot the 6 has it, BUT 6s and 7 does not because of the 3D Touch.. so to quick reply you press down on the text and the window will appear.. if you don't like it; go to..
settings>general>accesibilty> 3D Touch > turn it off.

i have this problem when click view
Hi I thought the same thing, but here's what you do: Deep press the notification and viola, texting box with keyboard comes right up. It's a change that will take getting used to but technically is faster than what it was, swipe and hit reply
I have the iPhone 6 (64GB model). After the upgrade to iOS10, I lost the ability to quick reply. When I long press on the message notification, nothing happens. If I double tap, it will open the messages app for me to reply. Does it only work for IPhone 6s or later?
I have an iPhone 6 too but just figured it out. Don't tap it or hold it, pull down on it. It will pop up a reply window. I have the notification set to Banner (it may work on alert too).

Me as well im having the same issue. I can only see CLEAR on my Iphone 7. Is this really a known issue now or what ?? I'll try what you suggested but then if the problem still persist, then what to do after ??
Turn off your 3D Touch
You actually have to press and hold the message when you are in the lock screen or in the drop down option.
Try turning off the 3D touch. Was just having this same problem, once i turned 3D touch off, i got two options instead of just the one.
